Gary Nadeau is an award-winning filmmaker. He studied Fine Arts at the Cleveland Institute of Art and then transferred to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where his thesis film ‘Red’ won the Gold Medal at the 1994 Student Academy Awards (The Student Oscar).

His first screenplay Jack (w. James DeMonaco) was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and attracted an all-star cast including Robin Williams, and Jennifer Lopez. Over the next decade, Gary worked as a Hollywood scribe, writing and selling a dozen scripts. During this period, Gary also directed two telefilms for ABC/Disney including ‘Angels in the Endzone’ featuring Christopher Lloyd.

Over the last decade, Nadeau has directed nearly thirty short films for Dwell.com, with video profiles on legendary designers and notable personalities including Michael Graves, Chip Kidd, and Cindy Gallop to name a few.  He has also directed several music projects for Universal Music Group, most notably a three-minute music documentary for critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright.

Gary’s commercial work is extensive. Highlights include a fifteen-minute advert film for Downtown Dubai and NYC agency Strawberry Frog. In 2018 Gary returned to the UAE where he directed several short films introducing the newly formed First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and its #growstronger campaign. In 2020 Gary directed a commercial spot for The Integer Group (NYC) and client Johnson & Johnson – celebrating 100 years of their Ban-Aid brand. 

His short film ‘Pizza Verdi’ has appeared in film festivals throughout the world and has garnered numerous awards, and his most recent TV project ‘The Damned’ (2022) is in development at 20th Century Studios. Gary is an Executive Producer on the project along with collaborators James DeMonaco (The Purge) and Todd Harthan (The Resident).
